Default 64 window install

What is the process of installing the door glass after replacing felts and glass set tape. I am having trouble fitting the glass in the new tape.
Do I need to fit the channel and tape to the glass first and then install. Will I do this out of the door and then replace the stops after installing in the door. Thanks again for any help yes forgot mention it is for a 64 convertible.

This is job that requires some guts. The best way to set the glass in the channel with new tape is:

1) hold the window perpendicular to a sold work bench with the bottom edge up.
2) warm the tape slightly with a heat gun and fold it evenly over the bottom edge of the glass.
3) secure it place with some duct tape. Remove duct tape after window channel starts to get close.
4) place the lift channel over the tape (make sure you have the correct location)
5) place a 2X4 over the bottom side of the channel and beat the snot out of it with a good sized hammer to set the glass in the channel.

It's best to start one end and move across gradually. If you try to take it all at once, you will never get there.

Yes you are correct, do not install the angle window stops until you have the window back in the door and mounted to the lift.

good luck and be brave.

Thanks TC got it in but did not need a big hammer. One side down one more to go. Cheers Bob.
