Default AC Plenum door adjustments ?

Now that I got my factory AC charged I am looking to tweak some adjustments for maximum efficiency.

I am wondering if the "heat door" in the heater ac box can be adjusted to be sure it is closed? This is the door controlled by the "cool in-hot pull" cable. See 66 shop manual 1A-22 Fig 35. 1A-63 Fig 88 shows this mechanism and it appears to have some slotted holes to facilitate adjustment but no mention of adjustments. I obviously want to keep the heat from the heater blowing into the cold air stream

Page 1A-6 Fig 11 refers to this as the Temperature Door Cam Lock (Chevelle only) but the illustration says Chevelle and Corvette?? This is in the heater only section of the shop manual so may not be relevant.

The adjustment ( or lack thereof) may be obvious when I get the glovebox out but I thought I seek some advice now.

Randy

PS The inside air/outside air door located in the footwell is adjusted properly.

No you can not adjust the doors in the box. Your only option is to pull the inner heater box and buy new seals and rebuild it. After you get the box out you can put the seals in a afternoon.
