Roger,
I'm not trying to be unkind, but I'd like to suggest punctuation. I've read yours through 4 times, and am still not quite sure what you are asking/saying.

This belongs on the "C1 & C2 Corvettes" section. But the answer is below. I am sure Vettebuyer will fix it.

There are many different Comp + style base shifters. You do not say what 4-speed you are using. The correct mounting plate is the one you listed if you have the correct base shifter. The mounting plate may need some modifying to clear the rear of the tail shaft extension. I doubt any Mr. Gasket parts will carry over. If your transmission is a T-10, install kit is # 3733157. If it a Muncie, the arms will be different. I have those part numbers. Jim

This is the adapter for my '59 T-10 to install a Hurst Competition Plus. I bought the shifter in 1964.

There is no 4 speed number stamp on the shifter body visible. The shifter body is #3917535. The number on the stick is only for the stick, #7238. You still have not said what 4 speed you have. There is difference in the arms. Most popular transmissions are:

T-10

early Muncie (stud and nut)

Later Mumice (bolt)

Other

If your shifter looks like the one in the picture below, you are good to go. If you need the rods and arms and hardware, the Hurst installation kit is #3733157 for a t-10 trans. Jim

Roger, I am not sure if this helps. I have a T-10 trans with the Hurst Competition Plus shifter and it works great.
