Default Teak wheel

Is there anything that one could do to protect a Teak wheel from the sun?

If it stays out in the sun that long why worry.

Park in the center of the garage, cover with three car covers, cover garage windows with foil faced rigid insulation, seal the doors with silicone, and set the lock timer for twenty fifty. When the " vault " is opened your teak wheel will have the NCRS point value it deserves.
My original has been locked in a cabinet since 73. Its too beautiful to hang on the garage wall as I consider it a work of art. I got it free and don't care if they are worth fifty or five hundred. Its a great conversation piece. Many believe its new style plastic which is all the new generation is exposed to.

Have a clear UV protective film such as Luminar put on the inside of the windshield. It blocks out 99% of UV rays and cuts heat transfer by 40%. I have it on all my glass.

I believe that my Eric Freeman wheel has a coat of polyurethane to protect it. The originals (according to guru John Z) had two coats applied. Check out this thread:

That may protect the wheel but what about the rest of the interior, not to mention your skin? Just sayin'

There are removable cloth covers that supposedly go on and off easily. You can get one in a "Walking Dead" theme, or Star Wars, or whatever tickles your fancy. These are ones that can stay on when you are driving, but if it's always covered, you don't get to enjoy the teakiness of it.. I've seen a picture of a loose fitting cloth one that is obviously supposed to be removed for driving but don't know where to find one. Maybe you could do something with a big pillow cover. Or put a towel over when you park it in the sun.
