Default CE code cid help

I've got a 1968 service replacement engine with earlier 461 heads. Is there any way short of a teardown to figure out whar it is (cid), because it's a 3914678, which means it could be a 302, a 327 or a 350, all in 1968 and all with 2-bolt mains. Is there any way to tell which is which on that block CE? Stamp is CE 8 35801.
Thanks

Nope. All you know is that it's a 4"-bore 2-bolt block, manufactured in 1968; to know any more, either the pan or a head must come off. If the engine is out of the car, the flywheel flange on the crank can identify 302 vs. 327 vs. 350.

Default Crank Indetification...

Actually, you can identify the crank with the engine in the car. Just remove the dust plate on the front side of the bellhousing and inspect the crank flange; compare to the many images of the crank flanges for 283, 302, 327 and 350s on the web.

This of course doesn't tell you the exact displacement since you don't know if it's 30 or 60 over.

Thanks guys. I've got a scattershield (I drive hard and like my feet), but may be able to check out the flange. Appreciate the tips, and John, your wisdom is always appreciated, thanks for sharing.
