How much gear oil in a 68 12bolt, additive +???? I want to fill it with the cover off and then put it under car. Sorry I could not remember my team Camaro password. I am going from 10 to 12 bolt 69 Camaro.
I don't have one, I have a 68 impala 12 bolt w manual, I will check it, I Google it, all the treads that show end up talking about the additive, I'm thinking 2qt plus additive?

Gm sold three bottles that might not be one quart each and then the additive.
Because those bottles seem smaller to me, in my memory than quart size. I could go look this weekend to see how many ounces in each bottle! I used to mix it all together in a bigger container, because I have a pump and cooler so my capacities are more than normal. I have drain plug drilled also! If they have instructions on the mix ratio, I can get a pic up. But I am going to a racers garage sell first thing in the morning.
Why not just use Red Line 75W90 gear oil, instead of worrying about mixing in additive? It already has the hypoid modifiers you need for positraction rear ends. You don't need to guess at how much. Just fill the differential with the Red Line and you're good to go.
NOTE: Read the label. Red Line also makes a 75W90NS, which does NOT contain the hypoid modifiers. Make sure you get the 75W90, and verify on the label that it has the hypoid modifiers, and you are good to go.
