64 corvette coupe engine id
I just bought a 64 coupe, 327 4 speed, i am trying to determine if it is numbers matching, the m20 is numbers matching i verified the serial number on the case and case castings, however the 327 has been rebuilt and decked so the numbers on the pad are gone, the motor is 3782870 casting, the date code is hard to read but looks like g103 i think would be july 10 1963 build ? My serial number is 115072 which puts it as a march or april build, the plate under the dash shows h07 which i believe to be april 7 1964 would they have installed a 327 built in july on a april production car and is there another way to check to verify numbers matching.

If the VIN derivative on the pad is gone a result of the decking, then the matching numbers aspect of the engine vs the Body/frame/title cannot be verified.
Everything else (appropriateness of relative casting/assembly dates) are just guesses and supposition.

Sorry, but there is probably no way to verify this is the as built engine for this car, and 9 months between engine casting and installation in a car is a far, far stretch.
Pull the valve covers and check the date codes on the heads, it may give you more info and very easy to do.
