Big item. Whoever put the distributor in has it all out of shape.
Thanks for your effort.
I had not noticed the windshield in the brochure pictures.
I'm trying to figure out if that rust on the frame is only 'surface' rust, it looks like it is.
The SWC frenzy has abated some....two years ago this car would have been snapped up in no time.... Problem is at $50K, assuming $15K to restore it, you are at $65K (if nothing major shows up - could be more); then you are approaching fair money for a NOM SWC. (Sorry the crappy restamp won't pass muster as an original engine).
The desirable saddle/saddle combo might bring a premium.
Not a bad deal if you have SWC fever but not a 'barn burner' of a steal...
Thanks for your effort.

You are thanking the wrong Hoosier, but thanks.
Can you find out anything about Steve's electric car from his brother David?
That birdcage looks rough. I've never seen one with scale in that location that didn't have rot further up. It appears there is a rust hole above this location where the dash fiberglass meets the lower WS frame:
For comparison, second photo is same location on one of my cars with glovebox out. Should be smooth flat and green in that area.
I did not say it was expensive, go back and read the post.
I said the price seemed a bit lofty for a car with so many unknowns to me.
There's a huge difference those two terms.
I have no interest.
The brother of the man who owned it lives locally. He is ignorant of Vettes and their value. He called me for some information on them.
I'm attempting to help him out a bit. The auction company the family chose is not advertising to a very broad market.
I've owned two C-2s in my life a have no desire to have another. (64 300 HP vert, & a 65-365HP air coupe, pretty rare).
There is also the 65 barn find taking up space. (PS it cost $!0,000 two years ago.) oh yeah, we had to tear down the barn for that price..
I now have two C-5s and don't have the garage space for another toy, besides, at 70 years old I don't have time for them to achieve their once lofty prices.
Now don't worry about me (I'm none of your business), I 'm simply trying to stir interest for some of you guys that might want to check this car out.
Not wanting a an emotional confrontation;
Lofty by way of Webster is " extremely high " by definition.
Again I don't believe the value is. Old cars need maint. & upkeep.. it is acceptable in the car purchase to take this into consideration as a hobby or investment.
Interest;
First, I can't worry about someone I don't know. This clears that up.
Second, Interest in the subject, car, year, or options, is just that.
I did not imply you wanted to invest. The subject you brought forth in my opinion " sparked " or indicated it was of interest. I have interest in many things. Some purely by camera.
Sorry if You read my intentions the wrong way. I openly admit to having a " crush " on pre 67 Chevrolet anything. Especially the fiberglass models.
I just heard from the brother of the ex-owner.
The 63 Split window went for $55,000 @ auction.
He is going trey to find out more about the purchaser.
It seems some one from NCRS did drop in for the auction and the car did have what appeared to be the original engine. I know the sellers are pleased, I hope the buyer is too.
The 85 did not sell (reserve of $3500) bid to $2000.
The 96 LT4 (non running) went for $1500.
The airplane did not sell.
