It's appropriate that a Corvette car be converted into a boat since the monikar for the car came from a type of naval ship.

looks like the door gap is on the body line half way down , front and rear of door ends there. if there was a gap on the bottom it would sink
Photoshopped. Note that there is no registration number on the bow and that the door side seams extend on to the gunal (moulding) that would compromise the strength of the side.
Note for my build, a gull wing door would work real well.
