A new neighbor just across the street. Met him a couple days ago and was just talking cars with him. Says he has an old corvette engine (aren't they all) in his garage. Says he's had it for many years, was given to him by a friend who's car caught fire. Here are some pics I just took. Wants to get rid of it, I need some help first. Thanks guys
I didn't say ANYTHING about flint or tonawanda. I was referring to the casting number.
The 3858180 engine casting number is a Tonawanda cast engine block. I believe that was the only place this block was cast. That was my comment.
A few of these castings did make their way to Flint in 1965 where they were assembled into Corvette engines. However, this was not one, as evidenced by the T and HC on the pad.
I was just trying to assist Dave with his question and be helpful.
Just a question, there is a corvette engine for sale here with this number (F0707HE). I know it's Flint build but the 'HE' doesn't mean it's a passenger car engine? The engine I'm looking at is 'HC' but a Tonowanda build. Thanks

HE is a Corvette engine code for 1965 327/250 and 66/67/68 327/300.

The "F" prefix makes it a pre-'67 engine. What's the block casting number and casting date?
