It's not that I have a strict 'no rain' policy about my '65 that makes me keep it in the garage unless there is cloudless sky - it's just that I am not ready for that feeling of going through a high pressure car wash in it due the certainty that it probably leaks like a sieve giving it's poor weatherstripping and top condition.
Well I've gone around the windshield with that wide blue quick-release painter's tape around the windshield to make it home in the rain before - the SWC stayed bone dry inside but the tape looks stupid.
Funny coincidence as I was at what would be the third shop yesterday to try and fix the windshield leaks on my 64. This is a whip! And the rear leaks too from just old age. And Frankie, I was just telling the guy that on our long Route 66 tour planned for next year blue tape is not a good solution.

Ya do what ya gotta do...
You can buy red tape like that.
I know because i bought some to get my new Z06 home (100 miles of freeway) without rock chips on the brake duct vents before i can get some clear protectant film installed there.
At least red tape on a red car won't be too obvious.
oh, yeah, McMaster-Carr for the tape, they have both red vinyl and the red painters tape.
