Default Running engine in Chassis Method

I have a '67 here for a body-off restoration.

The frame was pretty rough. Many issues found and repaired.

The frame was restored and chassis rebuilt while waiting for my machine shop to rebuild the engine, a semi-long block.

I got the engine back last week, installed the heads etc and installed in the rolling frame for break-in.

I typically run the engine with it's entire cooling system installed, but this time I did a pre-test simply using a garden hose plumbed into the water pump inlet. This saves time and avoids problematic issues with radiator and water pump, etc during break-in.

As it turns out the rebuilt water pump was leaking at the corroded backplate so I avoided that problem. I'm now ordering a new plate. I just let it drip happily along while the engine ran for about 1/2 hour at 2000 rpm. The pump came in from my supplier, who I believe got it from that west coast rebuilder of not-too-recommended fame. He got me again!

This engine has factory TI K66 Ignition so I simply wired up my test setup to feed the Ign wire and Sol terminal(12v to Amp in crank) to the TI Amp Harness as normally configured. Added a good ground from the Amp case to engine ground. Fired right up.

A few pics....
BTW, my first time using POR-15 Manifold paint.....NO GOLDISH COLOR RESULT after 500* + !

Beautiful work! It appears to be a 435HP engine, which cam and pistons did you rebuild with? Thanks

Thanks, fun project. Stock solid lifter cam, Sealed Power CS165R & AT 992 lifters, Kieth Black KB 360 hypereutectic pistons which were spec'd out for a little over 9.5:1 CR with some old 391 heads that've been decked a few times.
