That is a better price than I would have guessed for a ZZ6.

I'm guessing that these will sell like hot cakes.

Same short block as the ZZ4.

Different heads, and rocker arms.

A agree that they should sell well. Builders wanting naturally aspirated engines in their classics should be a good market for them...( other than an LS with a carb, that is).

Resale and customer confidence will usually be better on the cars that have real GMPP stuff rather than machine shop builds..even though much more power can be had for the same $ from an independent shop.

I assume it will have the same factory warranty as a ZZ4 too...

I agree...no intake or distributor on the base model either.

The intake they recommend is a single plane...which I never have cared for much for a driver, but add to the peak hp numbers.

Behive springs and 1.5 roller rockers add to the cost a little ...

Still..I think the head combination would be a nice improvement on a 4 speed car...just not so much so for a automatic.

Here's a neat link I just ran a cross, showing the history of the ZZ motors up to and including the ZZ6:

the article says that the ZZ5 (and I would therefore guess the ZZ6) have dual intake bolt patterns which supposedly accommodate earlier intake manifolds.

some folks have said that the older manifolds might bolt on, but they don't necessarily cover the intake ports properly.

?

Bill

btw, my ZZ4 was $3750, freight included...

I wondered about the newer heads runner height being a problem myself ...for intake compatibility ...even with the dual bolt pattern?

The GMPP 383 for $6250.00, is a better value, in my opinion. However, I don't think the intake it comes with will fit under a stock c2 hood...

Can't see how unless they got a special delivery somehow. The GM part inquiry system currently shows no availability of that part number.
