Could anyone please help me decipher the VIN on my 1964 coupe,4-speed corvette.I think it was saddle exterior/interior.What are the numbers F17 and 054 stamped on the VIN plate mean.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This link might help you, I just bought a 64 and used these to get a handle on the car and numbers. I think F17 is the build date, don't know what the other numbers stamped on is.
The 054 would normally be stamped on the Vin plate by the dealer for the date the car sold. This one is apparently stamped on the trim plate and is May of 64.
The 932 Paint code as you stated is Saddle Exterior, the CA
ECL code after the 490 interior code tells us the car did not have A31 Power Windows or M35 Powerglide trans.
