I am having an issue that I can’t seem to fix and would like to solicit your help with. I lost the passenger outside stainless steel surround “straight piece” on my rear (split) window. That is the furthest right (from the rear) vertical straight piece on the window. I lost it on track when I lost the curved piece which holds it on, and could not find it, and did not properly secure the straight piece. Problem is, I have found the repro curved (corner) pieces, but Paragon tells me the straight pieces are NOT reproduced, So…I am going to check with my friends who have Split Window Coupes to see if anyone can help me find this piece.
Thanks,
The show Fantom Works had an episode where they turned a hardtop from a 63 vert into a SWC hardtop and he had someone who made the window trim which he said was god awful expensive and even harder to get. They might be able to get you the piece you are looking for.
yes, I saw that episode and saw he worked with a guy in San Diego who was probably corvetteusa. He makes the corner pieces, which cost him $40K to tool up for. Some guys were cutting up the long curved pieces then welding them together to make the straights.

Actually that's how a lot of people have done it. I was at Fantomworks this summer and Dan Shore told me they are still some months away from having quality retail versions of the stainless for public sale.

I hope he follows through as I could use some pieces too.

Thanks,
I guess I don't realize how lucky I was. I got kinda rough with mine and put a small flat spot in it on installation. I was able to get another perfect one from , i think JT Piper. I traded the other one for something, don't remember what. Anyway, i came across a complete set recently. Kinda expensive, and I didn't buy it, but you could probably come out selling the remaining pieces. If nothing else works out, PM me and I'll give you the person's number. Good luck
I was missing one of those when I bought my car I looked on line and at shows for two years never found one that you could buy separately. There was one on ebay for $750 once and I thought it was to much but it sold very quickly. I ended up making one from two of the the long upper/inside moldings. I have not seen very many of those moldings for sale lately, they went for around $200 each 3 years ago.

Garrett, did you check with Chuck Walthers, cjw63 from the second ebay link posted by Ken Sungela? Chuck usually has most, if not all moldings for 63's, and 64-67's too. Any time I come across any mid year stainless, I usually sell them to Chuck.
Chuck's not the cheapest guy out there, but his moldings are usually perfect, and he'll give you an honest description of them. I've known Chuck for many years, and am very comfortable recommending him. Jim Glass also knows him well. Chuck's been to Lime Rock for some vintage races, with Jim. You can reach Chuck at 518-337-7528.
You might want to call Keen Parts and talk to them too. I know Tom was working on repro's of some of the rear window stainless. He showed me some pre-production samples at Carlisle in August.

Thanks very much Glenn. I will check with them all, and I thank each of you for your help and input
