John,
I just read your article on Timing and Vacuum Advance 101 (reprinted in the monthly Okla NCRS SIDE PIPE).
I don't care how old this kind of information is, it's always good to see a fresh light on these kinds of tech issues. Usually, I learn something new.
I've GOT TO GET a distributor in my Sun dist machine. I've become horribly rusty on how to use it as well as the Sun tune up machine that I inherited from my uncle's garage.
John-I suspect that I may be speaking for more than myself when I request that you think about putting all of your past articles in a book form. A one stop source for such information would be great. Hopefully there are not copyright restrictions preventing such a compilation. While I am making requests I would also like a book presenting the material that you provided when you talked to the New England Chapter of NCRS. That was the most interesting presentation on Corvette history that I have heard from any of the folks who were there in "the day." Where do I send the money for the books?
"I have no plans to consolidate them into book form - that's a LOT of work, followed by publisher-shopping, etc., and I'm getting close to that stage for my own "book" on the industry."

Whatever JohnZ publishes, I'll buy. I would also contribute to Crowd Funding for either his Industry Insider book or for a compilation of his tech articles. His Industry book would be fascinating as well as unique.

All of his articles and all his random first hand knowledge of the process needs to be published.

And I'm in to contribute towards the funding..............
People, such as John, are the ones that I stand up and pay attention to. Over the years I've seen, heard and read so much incorrect, inaccurate and "piggy backed" information and material, that I no longer subscribe to anything.
One example, because I've been a fanatical fan of fuel injection since 1957, I bought two of Ken Kayser's books (one hardbound, one softbound, I've read and referenced the softbound so much that it's coming apart, the hardbound is kept on the shelf). In his book, Ken has not only dispelled many minor and major inaccuracies and clarified several myths about how, when and where fuel injection came to be, but he has supported it with GM documentation, NOT word of mouth so to speak. Any of you know that 5 Cadillacs and one 57 Olds got FI? This is NOT speculative or rumored information, it is in Ken's book and supported by GM documentation which Ken has accumulated through his tenure at GM. From people such as Ken and John (and others who have been there, done that), these are the kinds of sources that I love to learn from.

Caddies were always a bit beyond me at that point in my life, but I remember the Olds.

Oh, Heck Yes!
Given the level of knowledge and detail, any such book would be a gold mine of information.
I paid $70-ish for a parts number book, $50+ for a used Noland book, and $25 for a used AIM.
I would give BIG bucks for a book with all of John's knowledge.
