I just heard that Wayne Womble had a massive heart attack and did not survive. Wayne was one of the good guys, and there was nobody that knew more about fiberglass, or how these cars were assembled than him.
He will leave a hole in this hobby that will be hard to fill. He was just posting here yesterday. Rest in peace Wayne.
I was absolutely stunned to hear this earlier today. Wayne and I have been friends for almost 50 years. I have owned many Corvettes and he has always done the glass work. I have many fond memories of crazy things we have done together. I will miss him greatly. I agree with John about his knowledge of our cars and fiberglass expertise. There was no one better. RIP, Wayne.
I just met Wayne last July, he and his son Jeff recently completed an incredible strip down & and paint on my 68.
Glad I had a chance to meet him, RIP.

OMG.. I'm shocked.. I just talked with Wayne via email Saturday about the issues with front ends and different suppliers.. He was such an asset to this forum. RIP my friend.
So sad. Wayne has been in this hobby for longer than I can remember. He was a respected Corvette legend around here. Full of knowledge and always willing to offer advice. A guy that was truly passionate about Corvettes and this hobby! RIP Wayne.

To echo Jeff. Wayne always took time to teach me anytime I had questions. Beyond Corvettes one of my best memories of him was him blasting by me in his old Cadillac. I want to say it is a 1934?
I'll echo what some of my friends and many of you have already stated here. Really hate to hear this news, and to see him go. My heart goes out to him and his family.
One of the memories I remember is helping him at a NCRS regional event at Myrtle Beach years ago, and he asked me to park my '96 catty cornered in the parking deck against his '67 and blocked into the corner so no one would be able to take off with it. Got to ride in the '67 that day too.
