$3,000.00 for mine back in 1978. It's a 1966 L-79 Two tops with sidepipes. It was a body and 5 large boxes of parts. Its been a fun ride all these years. Still have it. Got it in Ft.Lauderdale Fl. and moved to Denver in 2006.

Bought a '64 with lip flares, new paint and a 350 in it for $4500 in '78. Good solid car. Bought a '66 with rear lip flares, good paint and a worn out 327/300 for $5000 in '81.
Bought my current '67 for $14,500 in '96. Decent new paint, rear lip flares, 350 painted blue with lots of gee-gaw chrome stuff and lots of new parts. P/O had bought all new interior than dyed it baby blue. Got it home, pulled all interior and re-dyed correct colors, pulled engine and painted it orange, slipped in an LT-1 cam along with a used Tarantula intake and some Vette valve covers bought for $40 to at least make it "look" and sound like a Vette motor. Put on some TTII Americans and turned down $22K within a week.
It's changed a little more since then!

I found the Bill of Sale where the previous owner of my '65 convertible paid $19,500 for it back in '98. He prepped it for paint and then ran out of steam. I picked it up as a project back in April 2015 for less than that...

In 1973, at the tender age of 18, I went Corvette shopping after getting my first well paying job. Looked at a 63 F.I. coupe for $2000 but it ran like crap and I hated the split window (Zora and I had that in common). I ended up with a 64 coupe that had a new LT-1 in it for the same price. The following year I decided I wanted a convertible so I sold the 64 and bought my 60 for $2000 and still have it today. Many more Corvettes have come and gone since then but when I think about all the things me and the 60 went through, it will be hard when it's time to part.

A couple of examples 20 years apart
I ordered my first '67 L79 (there's that term again) coupe in March of 1967. It stickered at $4995, but I paid $4130. (Believe it or not, new Corvettes were not in great demand then, as everyone was waiting for the new "Mako Shark" style cars to come out that summer.) 20 years later, I bought my present '67 L79 coupe for $12500. It was a 63,000 mile unmolested car out of Texas that drove and ran perfectly! I still have it, of course. I consider he second one a better buy!

Bought a 1967 427/390 HP factory air convertible for $3300 in 1970 after graduating college and beginning my first job. Marlboro maroon with saddle and two tops. NO side pipes ( ). Car was in Houston. Later sold.
In 1994 I purchased a 1967 327/350 HP factory air convertible with 26,000 miles for about 12X the price of the one I bought in 1970. Still have this car, 22 years later. Car goes to my brother or his son when I can no longer drive it.

I'm guessing you mean a car that you still have today, so that leaves me out as far as the generations we're talking here. But for cars we have gotten rid of, I paid $1,050 for a good running '59 in 1967, $4,000 for a 1-owner '67 427/400 in 1968, and $650 for a basket-case '56 in 1970.

With all the "weight reduction" my '59 had received plus gawdknows what that engine was, that POS would do the 1/4 mile in 13.9. Heady stuff for someone whose prior ride had been a Corvair.

How Much ???
I paid $500 for my 67 back in August 1974.
66 Jack---I see you have the infamous "5" in your bill of sale's VIN instead of an "S". I assume you have corrected that over the years.
