The stock 66-67 14" open element air cleaner, is one of the best looking air cleaners made. It drops right on if you have a Holley equipped 350 or 365 horse engine, and I think will go on the 300 HP AFB, and maybe the WCFB.
They look stock (because they were from 66-70), and can be had for about $100-$125, if you pass on the NCRS correct lid, with the silk screen instructions on the underside of it.
I have a base and a couple old AFB's. If I can get a chance later, I'll test fit the base on an AFB.

Do you have the double snorkel air cleaner ?
If so, I have one a modified base you could put on cheap...it has 1" holes drilled around the circumference from a previous owner... Plenty of air flow.

thanks, I have the stock one now, I think I may just want a normal 14" one, change the look and such, just need a 14" that will fit and clear the stock hood
The Corvette drop base used with the Holleys won't fit an AFB because the AFB uses a smaller overall throat diameter.
But, when I had an AFB, I was able to take a 4" flue reduction collar and file out the appropriate notches to mate with the 4" AFB. This sat on the rim of the carb (friction fit from the raised areas), and the air cleaner pressed down against the metal. You couldn't see it under the air cleaner.
