Default How do I date code the hardtop on my '66?

When I purchased the 66 it came with both tops...

Is there a way to tell if the hardtop is original to the car? Is there a date code? Trim code? smoking gun?

If it can be determined that indeed it IS the top that came with the car in 66...am I foolish to sell it? I'm never going to use it and its a pain to babysit....

Look in the driver side corner of the back glass. Should have some letter code/s with the word acrylic or a partial of the word. I think you could only determine it too be original if you had paperwork. Keep it, get a hoist and put it up above in the garage.

One letter for the month and another letter for the year. Post up what you find.

My 1967 hardtop sits on a stand in the front hall closet of the house........and has occupied this position for the past 22 years.

2023 C2 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified

I just put my HT on after having it sit in the basement for the past 15 yrs. Checked for date code and found much had worn off. Here is what I found;

"exiglas F
rylic"

My car was built Feb 16, 1966 (50 years ago tomorrow!). What month would the "F" stand for?
