ScottRods 63 Split Window Gasser Build
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I don't get how the snorkel hood is going to fit with that blower. I would just cut the hood channel off and put no hood on it at all.
No snorkel going on this I am going to use this one I bought out of a shed.
Bad aZZ looking stance and soon to be hot car!!!!!

I have a concern over those breathers on a full tilt boogie drag racer, even though they look cool. Some of the blown cars doubled that style up, because that style actually didn't work as well as a stock configuration cars setup (singularly).
My Dad ran a 1964 Coupe in the drags back in the day at some of the various Socal tracks. He had a similar hood running the 1960's side by side dual carb ram manifold for which that hood (JD Corvette unit) styled was designed for.
He had this type of manifold with his dual snorkel hood.

He ran also the new designed Cragars like you have in the front and a widened steel rim with a rethread drag slick in the back. He had the three taillight conversion done, I still have a lot of the Eelco stuff from that car in the garage, like the ball joint extenders, etc.. And you have just the perfect and right amount of flake planned in that paint. Our car was super heavy flaked and just sparkled in the sunlight.
I also think when the cars got blown, the NHRA made them go to plexiglass windshields! But would have to check the old rules books on that to be sure! And the blown and altered cars were running wheelie bars!

Thanks for the info on your Dad, Very Cool.!!!!
PS for the Nitro experts, I know octane blends helps run things cooler, so just a figure of speech! I was actually looking around for a cool drag racer appropriate front grill! Not an easy item to find. There was an outfit that was still making tubular grills out at Pomona, but didn't get a name or business card. Your car needs something super special in the way of a front grill. I also don't know if anyone is knocking off vintage looking parachutes either?

PS I would almost want to cut and fit a C1 styled grill, to give it the look of having teeth! I would have to try it on a scale plastic model first to see how the look would be!

I see you're looking for 63 trim parts in the Wanted section here. They can be tough to find. Might be worth $40 to join the NCRS and get the Driveline magazine with all of its Corvette-specific parts ads.
It was the ONLY place I could find an original '63 hood I had shipped from Texas to Florida.
