Default NCRS humor

Important - this is a joke, intended for humor. No offense intended to anyone!

I was talking to a friend who is a long-time Corvette guy and a devoted C-1 lover. He told me he had become a judge for the NCRS, but confided he was having a tough time of it.

"I've had these old cars for years, and thought I knew them well, but this judging is rough!" he said.

I suggested he re-read the judging manuals a few times. "I've read them till I'm blue in the face already!" he moaned.

I asked whether he had asked his fellow judges for advice. "Yes, and they've been very supportive, but I just can't seem to feel comfortable in the job".

I thought a minute. "Look, this may sound personal, but have you been circumcised?? I asked.

"Well, yes, I have" he replied "but what does that have to do with it?"

"Well, there's your problem!" I told him. "You have to be a complete pr**k to be a NCRS judge!"

It would really be interesting to see reactions if posted on the NCRS site

Sure glad railroadman said he was joking. If he was serious I would be very angry with him about this. I might be so angry that i would have to tell all you guys off, and give up the CF and never come back. (for at least one day anyway).
But, since he was just making funny, then hey, it's all in fun. Bring it on!

If it makes you feel any better, it's generic and you can adjust the "victim" to be an umpire, a cop, a musician of whatever instrument you dislike, or anything else. The way I heard it was a guy in a band telling it to the audience, about line dancers. So I just "tweaked" it a bit to fit the forum a bit better.

65hihp, in case you feel the need to retaliate, I'll help you out. I presently have a C-4, I like older country music and I root for the Buffalo Bills. Fire away, I can take it!

No, I hate to pile on. You have three strikes against you already. You're probably also an NCRS judge but don't admit it because you get enough ridicule as it is, for your other shortcomings.

You'll have to have them drop their pants to see if they've been "clipped" to know for sure...

I guess nobody else got Nowhere Man's "Star Wars" paraphrasing.

I've turned a corner with the NCRS after my recent judging experience in January.
You won't hurt my feeling with the jokes one bit. I even managed to get a thread
closed on the NCRS web site by asking a simple question...

If Moses had known sinners would add that vile Vintage Air A/C kit to their cars
there would have been another commandment.

Great organization in theory, not so much in actual practice...

Well, actually it's an outstanding organization that has done more to promote the enjoyment of classic corvettes than any other classic automobile club in existence.
I would like to hear of even one other marque that has a fraction of the number of enthusiasts who volunteer so much time and money creating restoration guidebooks and traveling to events around the country evaluating other owners' cars. There is none. Period. Look at the glass half full, rather than half empty.

THAT'S what the doctor meant when he said "it won't be long now" when they were doing that procedure to me!

Great organization. Advanced the hobby tremendously.

They just need to reevaluate their current judging leadership, JG revision procedures and adherence to their purported 'objective standards'....

They're currently 'broken'...

And, in addition to that, NCRS's judging methods and standards have also had an influence on the upgrading of judging methods of other car hobbies. And for the most part, I have found that to be a good thing. One small, but simple example, is the marking on the heads of engine bolts. I personally prefer to use a quality, new set of bolts (such as ARP) when building an engine. But it's nice to know what was actually installed at the assembly plant. I do not get bent out of shape over that kind of detail. I just store it away in the gray matter for knowledge purposes.
