What would be a reasonable price to rechrome 1960 Corvette front bumperettes and front license plate frame. The parts are in good condition just pitted and some surface rust. Thanks.

Can;t answer what I paid as I had all my parts rechomed at the same time. You'll probably find that prices vary all over the lot.
My thought is that when you include shipping, etc , it may be as cheap if not cheaper to just buy new ones. I see in Zip that the bumperettes run about $160 for the par and the plate holder runs about 45.....
Reasonable may run parallel to your expectations. Rechroming, and all the pluses and minuses have been well covered here on the CF. Too sum it up, you get what you pay for and reputation have a lot to do with it. Dennis
Buy new ones. Cost is less than a quality shop would charge.
I'm not a C-1 person, but it has been said a few times relative to C-2 bumpers that repro's don't always fit like originals. If his are orig, he may be better off doing them. Dennis

C-1 pieces OP noted are small pieces that fit just fine. I bought them myself when I did a frame off a few years ago on my '62

I just had my 66 bumpers re-chromed by The Chrome Shop in Rock Island, Illinois and they did a great job in 4-5 week time period. They were $275 each and I would think yours would be in the same range.

I am only a couple hours from there. Could you please share some good pics of your bumpers? Did they call what you got show chrome or is all their chrome the same? Did they have to do any cosmetic work on your bumpers?
I bet you will pay $250-400 per side on those bumpers. I used Pauls Chrome in PA for my door posts and w/s posts. They are the best! For the license frame I would just buy new. I was told and did buy mine new along with the grille.
He asked about bumperettes, not bumpers. It shouldn't be anywhere close to $275 each.
There are differences between original bumperettes and repros. And there have been at least three different Repros over the years, some even less correct than others.
A pair of bumperettes, back plate, and lower bar should probably be done by a good quality plating company for in the $350-400 range.
I posted the question after I took the parts to a local plating shop. His quote was $500.00. I told him I thought that was high but he would not come down on the price. I may just buy repro or see what's on Ebay. Thanks for all your input.

He gave you the "I don't really want to do it" price
