Default Key Switch Help

I need some help on removing the key switch? After the threaded nut is loose, what do I need to do for removal? I have inserted an object in the small hole with hopes this would trigger a release mechanism.
Any advise greatly appreciated.

Insert a paper clip into that hole and with the key in the ignition turn the key counter clockwise and pull rearward to remove the cylinder..
