My 65 is my favorite. I've had it for 45 years. I would have a hard time selling it but, I suppose if I was offered ALOT more than it's worth, I would have to consider it.
How attached? I bought my 60 when I was 19 and I'm 61 now so I guess I'm quite attached. That being said, I can see that the time to sell it is getting closer everyday.
Dad and I have discussed this many of times. Of the four classic cars we own dads 67 coupe (our first car we restored) his 67 convertible ( to original to let go it's our old reliable) we could never sell. My 66 Chevelle as nice as it is and how sorted out it is it would be very hard to let go but it could. And last our most valuable the 67 427 car as rare as it is we could sell that at any time. As much fun we had restoring that car we made it more of a museum peice then a car to drive.
If you look at it this way if you need the money and you sell a car to get that money as soon as you use that money up your right back where you was. With one less car.

I am almost in the exact same position. I thought I would never sell mine. Been with me before marriage and kids, My kids are now grown up and out of the house. My health has limited me the past few years and I am thinking maybe I should let my58 go and get loved and better cared for from someone else.
Its funny how at one time it was "NEVER EVER SELL HER" but age changes things.

I just turned 60 and I bought a 1960 when I was 18. Likely the same year you bought yours. Instead of keeping it I sold it a couple years later. I've spent the last 35 years trying to find it. It was vin# 00062. I even posted it on the Corvette Registry in hopes that someone spots it.
My dad purchased it new.. He managed to keep it through his time in the Air Force, marriage, 2 kids, some lean financial times.. It's going to my son (now 15) some day.. hopefully not too soon!
Had it since 1989 It would take another c2 silver-red gut auto side-pipes and cash to let it go. Maybe a 57 vette? (w/hardtop) automatic. Cant drive stick.
Interesting question, I had to have a cat scan last week and planned in my head worst case scenario. My camaro would be sold and put in a college fund for my 5 year old. I would try to work a deal with my well off buddy to sell him my 66 at a discount if he would store my 60 and zo6 for my 5 year old one day. That might sound crazy but her and I have had good times in those 2 cars and hope that I could keep that connection. Tests came back good, but I'm always thinking.
Never sell at any reasonable expectation of price! Had my 67 since 71, kept it through a nasty divorce and other life issues. It's going to my grandson.
Now if someone offered me a million dollars for it....... But that's just mental masturbation!
