Is it possible to tell big block vs small block front springs on a 67 by looking at them on the car? This is a small block car with big block motor. Other things one should look for to see if it was properly modified to handle the big block?

The answer is yes..............by both wire diameter and coil count........perhaps even a part number sticker may still be there. LICS has good descriptions and pictures and specs. Go to their website and get the info.

Well, from my experience in trying over the GM counter, stock SB springs (tags and all) on my aluminum head BB car - yes, you can probably tell. Because if they installed an iron head BB engine on top of SB springs, the springs are probably completely collapsed and coil bound. The ones I installed didn't have hardly 1/8 inch between the coils after 12 months of slight use.

Big block has a larger radiator and I believe a larger diameter fuel line from the tank along the frame.
