Default 67 Clock Stem removal

Can anyone offer assistance on how to remove the clock stem from a 67 clock?

I have it all apart, but cannot remove the stem. I need to clean it up before putting everything back together. I see there is a spring and a gear on one end, and all that seems to be working.

Thanks!

Not sure if this will be of any help, but here are the instructions that came with my conversion kit.

The only one I ever removed was many years ago, and as I recall was in agreement with step one of the instructions posted; i.e., you must hold the stem with a pair of pliers or such and then unscrew the **** from the stem. That'd be what I'd try . . . . .

I have the **** off. I need to remove the entire stem from the clock.

The 67 clock does not have a nut. It has a pressed on gear.

When you set it back together, please post again so we know what isw necessary. My stem came loose all by itself an I'd like to put it back together. And no, a dab of Super Glue isn't the answer.
