Default Detectives Wanted (FLORIDA)

Does anyone in the Ft Lauderdale area remember this oddly optioned 1964 convertible or know any of the previous owners. I do not believe it was ordered by someone or for a dealership maybe ordered incorrectly and refused? Here is my story.....Built Apr 28/64 then shipped to Slaton Chev,Federal Hwy,Ft Lauderdale on Oct 27/64, 6 months after assembly, from Chevrolet Motor Division Atlanta Ga. to be registered to Richard Lee,Castilla Isle,Ft Lauderdale as a NEW vehicle.Richard returned the car to Slaton Chev on Sept 16/65 to be registered to Margaret Ferguson,NE 37 Drive, Ft Lauderdale on Sept 16/65 then back to Slaton Chev on Oct. 27/65 then registered to William Ferguson, NE 18th Ave,Ft Lauderdale on Nov. 24/65 then back to Slaton Chev on Oct.26/66. Next owner was E Carolyn Honour,Lakeside Dr,Lakeworth on Nov.3/66.From Carolyn it transferred to James Briggs,Ocean Dr,Riviera Beach on June 5/69, he may also have lived on El Sereno Pl,Tampa and may have be a teacher. Previous owners may have original paper work? Car was white from factory, both tops, automatic later painted maroon then light blue. Thanks in advance for any help

These options may not seem odd to some but I find it difficult to understand why anyone would order some expensive options and not others. 64 convertible,.327-250.. automatic.. no posi .. both tops .. ps.. pb.. no pw... back-up lines ... white exterior... dark blue/silver leather(899n)...factory air...no radio....base blackwall tires(original in tub) This is an AOSmith with a D16 build date. 8 track in GM products in '66? I know Ford had it as an option then, but don't remember if GM did?

I was running a Muntz 4 track at that point..............

Yes we are discussing a 64 Corvette, what I was saying is that after the car was built about the end of Apr.64 the "Application for Certificate of Title State Of Florida" indicates this Corvette as a new vehicle acquired from Chevrolet Motor Division Atlanta Ga. on Oct.27/64 some 6 months after assembly to Slaton Chev. Did Chevrolet have a Zone office maybe in Atlanta? Obviously someone ordered this vehicle with some high priced options yet skip on others. RIC

This all sounds pretty weird to me considering a C2 was never built, serviced, optioned or modified at the Chevrolet Motor Division Atlanta Ga.

Perhaps it was a company/employee car that was special ordered, used by some one at the Atlanta office for 6 months or so, kept on MSO, and then sold to the dealer?

Stranger things have happened..............
