Default Big Decision made

After being hit by a 8 foot piece of metal on the frwy last weekend, and having several recommendations on who should do the work I decided on someone local. Fiberglass specialties in Hawthorne Ca, I have seen a few cars this shop has done, and so I dropped it off today. Hagerty so far has been great, not like dealing with my regular car insurance co that wants the cheapest place to fix your car.

Paint the whole front end front of doors forward, they feel very confident.

Good call Ian,
I'm sure they will nail that sucker, and within just a few months after you get your car back you will have forgotten all about the mishap.
good luck

Good luck- keep us posted. I enjoyed our conversation very much.

Lean on them for a real match, and tell them nicely enough before they paint it that if it is a wrong shade (less likely) or if they don't lay the metallic down like the rest of the car (more likely) then then are going to have to shoot the base again until it's right in your eyes. "You got this!"

It was great to talk with you today also. I have let them know my concern, now it's just wait and see.

Hagerty may cost a bit more but they seem to get positive reviews when it comes to handling claims. I've used them since the early '90s.

Bluffman good luck with the repairs. I hope your car comes back perfect!

Good luck with the repair. I assume you are local to the shop, so stop by often to document the process. This will also let them know you are around and eliminate excuses for slowing work on the car.

I'm assuming you really mean you took it to "The Fiberglass Body" on Rosecrans. Or is there a shop called Fiberglass Specialties I don't know about? I live in Redondo Beach, but used to work just down Rosecrans.
