Default 67 Big Block - Trim Tag help

Still chasing the dream : )

I have today in front of you a Trim Tag from a Elkhart Blue Big Block 67 coupe with VIN that corresponds. Waiting for pic of VIN to verify it's authenticity. Does the Trim tag pass the smell test??

Many thanks!

I'll say yes, the trim tag looks good - '67 coupe, Lynndale Blue, black vinyl interior, body assembled on June 7, 1967. It does appear to have been cleaned, but looks just like the trim tag in my '67.

By itself however that is meaningless. We need to see not only the VIN tag (it should be a high VIN, close to 20k) but also the stamp pad, engine/under hood/under carriage/ body pics.

You know the drill - we've done this dance before.............

From what I can see, that is not an original trim tag.

I don't like it either. The horizontal lines and the "8".

The body number sequence is suspect in my mind. Here is my car's TrimTag built 9 days later. Also the rivets don't seem to have the same amount of dirt/crud as the tag does.

Rick

His is a coupe, yours is a convertible. Of course the body sequences would be different.

Not asking you to judge the whole car just the trim tag. Would need the VIN & super close ups of the fonts on the tag to make any assumptions.

You are so correct, I got so into the number difference I forgot about his being a coupe.

Rick

There were 2300 total Corvettes in November with using both SL & AO Smith bodies.

Ha! Ha! You are so right! VIN:194377S120343 of which still needs to be authenticated. You mentioned Lynndale Blue? This car is Elkhart Blue? Car was restored in 2008 and repainted? Which color is correct? Still working on the other stuff. Need to quit my day job ; )

I see what you mean with the 8's ? Making me more skeptical and the patina of the tag is wrong??

I agree the patina is bad - but I thought that was because it had been cleaned, like maybe rubbed with steel wool, a brillo pad, or scotchbrite.
Just my opinion, could be wrong.
