Default Engine numbers match question

I have a 64 coupe fuelie with a vin# 40837S121567
the block casting # Is 4121563 FO 624RF
so the block is showing 4 cars earlier on the assembly line. Anyone
have an opinion as to the discrepency.

I think you meant the engine stamp pad, not the casting #?
The block casting number should be 37828870, at the top left rear of the engine block.

The vin/partial VIN discrepancy is strange - I have no answer for that, other than to wonder if at some point in the past the car was "converted" to a FI by swapping in an engine with a close VIN.

The June 24th engine assembly date does correspond well to a VIN of 21,567 - or 21,563 for that matter.

I am not experienced so bear w me. I do mean engine stamp. The title vin is correct and I will check the casting #. where do I find the frame and trans #'s . As far as the production Date would not the end of June be close to that years production?

Thanks
