Default Where is dad's 1958??

I realize this is a long shot but will see what happens. Ol' dad bought a 1958 Corvette from California and had it car hauled to north Louisiana, this was in 1968. While dad had it from 1968 - 1978 he had it painted turquoise blue with white coves and had a 327 / 4 barrel from a 1965 or 1966 Corvette installed. Along with this, the car had a soft top as well as matching turquoise hard top, wonderbar radio, and possibly a Hurst shifter. The car also had the round reflectors from the rear removed. From what I've heard dad had about $2,500 tied up in it. In 1978 dad decided to sell the old car to a Corvette enthusiast for $4,500 who immediately flipped it for $8,500 (I think) to someone in Texas. Anyone on here from Texas that possibly bought the car?? I'll try to post pics as soon as I can. Trying to find a VIN, with all the stuff that dad has it would seem respectable that he would have this as well. Wouldn't mind knowing what happened to that ol' car. Forgot to add that it had black interior (seats, door panels, dash.......)

Without a VIN the chances of finding it is less than a needle in a haystack.

Once you find the VIN and post it on this thread, anytime someone googles that VIN this thread will come up. It's still a long shot, but it might eventually work. I'm trying to find two Corvettes in this way.
,
There's also NMVTIS http://www.add123.com/autodata/nmvtis, but that doesn't get you much.

If your dad had a longtime insurance hookup, the agent or the company might have something with the VIN. Other than that, any accidents that might have generated an accident report?

The link ToddH provided shows there IS a record in the NMVTIS. I'll let YOU pay the $4.95 and see what they have to say. They will not tell you the owner nor where they live, but it WILL say what state it was titled in and what date the title was issued on. That's a start.

It's also in the C1 registry, with no additional information about the car. But at least it apparently exists.

Thanks for your help & support guys........in the late 70's it went to Texas but apparently changed hands a few times. It now resides in Houston, Tx., thanks to a great looking car that everyone wouldn't mind posting pics of.........I just saw a picture of it on facebook.
