The photo attached shows a resistor that was located behind the instrument cluster in this '62 we have been working on. The gas gauge does not work. the car has new wiring, sender, rebuilt gauges. is this resistor needed to make the gas gauge work correctly?
the temp gauge also is not registering. Does it perhaps need a resistor too?
Tks for any help.
Mike
Check this PDF File,,,, it will show the capacitor on the back of the cluster
Thanks. Are these capacitors necessary for operation of the gas and temp gauges? Neither are working although everything (senders, wiring, gauges) is either new or rebuilt.

Is the capacitor in the correct location in that PDF file.. although i know very little about electricity,, it seems strange to go from a red connection to a ground
