Default Fuel injection

61 fuel injection unit need help identifying. I purchased on eBay a FI unit supposedly for a 1960 61 and 62. I believe it's an older unit because there is a solenoid valve down on the spiders fuel line also a exterior vacuum driven diaphragm for fuel bypass. Can anyone help me with when it was changed.

Would be helpful if you posted pictures showing any numbers of the FI unit.

62 is quite different from 60-61. Solenoid on spider area is a very common retrofit. That's all I can tell you based on your description. More info with pictures would give us a better chance to help.

The solenoid is part of a anti siphon system which is a must have item on all Rochester fuel injection.

Yep, Yep and Yep!!!
It's hard to adequately explain when we are not able to see what you are looking at.

Even though 60-61 units and 62 units have a smooth top, they are two totally different units.

If there is an elec solenoid on the underside of ANY 57-62 unit, it is a SAFETY add-on which someone has done in the past-------------------WELL WORTH THE ADDITION to prevent a bent rod and/or damaged engine!!!

The 57-61 units have the choke housing mounted on TOP of the air meter like this.

The 62 units have the choke housing on the (rear) side of the air meter.

And then on 63-65 units the choke was moved to the front side of the air meter.

Is this similar to the solenoid you are referring to?

There are also ribbed top units used in 1960, the 7200, 7250 and 7300. You really need to post pictures.
