Harmonic balancer
second question: is this a previously used damper?
looking at the picture, I don't see any shiny area exposed, so if it is a previously used damper then there would be a shiny area projecting past the seal if it is not seated far enough; I don't see one....
the distance from the edge of the front of the timing tab seems about right as there has the be enough of the damper edge exposed to see the mark on the damper in relationship to the graduations on the tab.
if you had to 'drive' the damper on the crank snout, then when it was seated you should have heard/felt a change in the sound of movement when it seated against the timing gear. if you used a bolt to pull it on they you would know when the bolt won't turn beyond its torque spec (not sure what that # is...)
just my thoughts....

Looks good to my Mark 66 optical calibration.
I can't imagine it going on any farther past the timing marks/timing tab relationship.

Anyway, it sounds like most all believe it's good so I going with that. Thank you for the feedback.
