the F after the 55 means it is a automatic. if after the 55F there is a G, it is from a 55 corvette. also, clean up in front of the 55F. letter has to be a F to be from a corvette. if it's a T, it cannot be a corvette block.

What I "think" I can see is "77 F55F ?"
The "?" looks like it MIGHT be a "G", but it doesn't line up properly with the F55F.
F55FG would be a 55 powerglide Corvette. F55GR would be a 55 3 speed manual Corvette.
