I have been hired to inspect a '67 that a dealer is bringing to sell at Carlisle. Wondering if anyone may know of a lift available in the area to use to get a good look at the underside of the car.
Just a flyer, but many of the installers have portable lifts on site at the show. Maybe you could cut a deal with one of them? Not sure if they would allow it due to liability, etc., but it may be worth asking.
For those from the area how long of drive is it from Carlisle to Philadelphia. I have someone wanting me to do an inspection in Philly next weekend. Trying to work out my logistics.

It's about a hour and half depending on traffic and what part of Philly your going too. Just jump on the turnpike (76E) and you will be there
Thanks for all of the help. I have a lift setup to use and a good time setup to make the trip back and forth to the second inspection in Philly. Now let's all hope for good weather and a great show you. Hope to see some of you there. I will be there tomorrow early am through Saturday late afternoon.

Two inspections completed. One very nice car that went to a new very happy new owner. One not so good good fake big block that is still owned by the current owner who is not so happy with the guy who did the inspection.
Bought a few very nice original parts. Sold a few as well. Saw some nice C1 and C2s for sale but nothing that I had to have. I thought that I had a nice low mileage C6 bought for the wife. But the dealer/seller thought
that he could squeeze another $1K out of me so the search goes on.
Caught up with some old friends. Met some new ones including members Bluestripe67 and Tom McCabe. Missed Nowhere Man but did run into his dad to discuss tripowers.
No rain but very hot temps. All and all another good Carlisle but really missed not having my Pops not being able to here. Thanks to all who have sent their best wishes it helps.

The fake big block was Marina blue with white interior 390hp. Repop trim tag on an original small block car. Other than that it was a car with nice paint, interior, frame, top and chrome. Unfortunately it was represented as a real matching# big block with real paperwork. Instead it was a nice clone that was faked all the way down to the amateur paper work.

Good job Poncho , you da man!! Ya know, the current owner shouldn't be pissed off at you, the inspector, you are just doing your job. He should be pissed off at the guy he bought the car from, unless of course, the current owner is the guy that created the fake car, docs, and trying to misrepresent it. He either knows what he was doing, or got took when he stroked the check for it.

Jim,
It does not bother me that the seller is unhappy. I am working for the buyer so all good. By the way I talked to Tom Keen at Carlisle. He said that you had built a new house in Indy?
Yes we did, just took best in class today in the Carmel Indiana Artomobilia car show with my old 56 that I have had forever and just got it done with the help of a good friend.

Ya know Pancho, I have been messing with Corvettes for 40 years, and today was the very first time I have ever entered a Corvette or any collector car in a show with judges and awards. Never really gave a crap about trophy's and plaques, and still don't, but we had a good time and met a lot of super nice people in our new summer home town.
