Default Anyone made their own window sticker?

I'm looking to see if anyone has scanned an original window sticker for a 58 and modified it to fit their car.

I just discovered that window stickers didn't come out until 1959...still would be kind of cool to have cause 99.9% of the people wouldn't know.

You need to do a search but there was a thread several months ago about window stickers. There is a guy who makes these for around 30 dollars and also a member show one he made using his computer.

I would like to get one for a car show I just heard about this weekend. So I don't have much time to put something together. I'm pretty good when it comes to photo shop...all I need is a copy of one.

Here is the one I made on my computer for my '62. I have a blank one as well - let me know if you want a copy.

I laminated mine and I tape it to the inside of the driver's window at local shows . . . it always gets a lot of comments. Here's where it was placed on the cars originally:

That's great! I'm pretty sure I can photo shop this and make it fit my car. I'll give it a shot and post what I accomplish on this post.

Do you remember what FONT you used?

What was the physical size of the sticker?

Try Calibri font in 16 point size. I had to double-space between letters to make it look more like the original font GM used, but it's pretty close. I also laid out a different-color grid (I used hot pink - easy to see, easy to separately erase) over the entire page to help align everything. Good luck, let us see what you come up with.

Correct original size was approximately 10.5" x 6.5". I couldn't find an original sticker with the actual freight charge for the dealership where my '62 was delivered new (Washington Motor Co. in Abingdon, Virginia) so I looked at a bunch of original dealer stickers, figured out the distance from the St. Louis assembly plant to those dealers, and came up with a cost-per-mile figure, which is what I used. You can do the same.

You should delete the Zip Code. The Post Office didn't start them until 1963.

Same with the two letter state codes.

Funny how some of you know even what existed just on the window sticker.

I just made up the codes. So I guess not only the codes were missing but the title also?
Since I am doing this on my own, there is probably a lot wrong with it down to the font

Did they just tape it to the window or was it in some kind of baggie?

Originally most were affixed with a strip of mucilage (glue) run down each vertical edge. As I said, I laminated mine and just tape it to the inside of the window at shows.
