After market AC kits
I just found a company that makes an aftermarket AC kit for non-AC factory cars. It hooks up directly to your cars heater system and from the photo's looks pretty good. How would adding this kit effect the price of the car? Pros & Cons?

Depends how original and desirable your car is. If it's a NOM car then on most eyes your increasing the value. If it's truly all original numbers matching high horse car then to most your decreasing the cars value. But you own the car and you have to decide how YOU are going to enjoy it

Please post the manufacturer name, location, model number and price of this system. One of the benefits of Corvette Forum is gathering and reading reviews from members who may have purchased, installed and lived with a new aftermarket offering!

Vintage air and classic auto air has been making these kits for decades. Nothing new. Reading on here both work great but each have there pluses and minus

If its the unit I think it is you retain your original heater box somehow and run a hybrid heating and cooling setup... I'm open-minded but it'll be dang hard to beat a GEN IV Vintage Air system...

I did not post the Website as I did not want to Mods to think I was promoting a business. I live in AZ so AC would be very desirable. Full disclosure, I do not currently own a C1/C2 but am in the market.

it reads as though they provide a new heater core to replace the original core and a new a/c core, and utilize your existing controls and vents. you change out everything else....
sounds good, but I have no experience with that brand.

Classic Auto Air is out of Tampa, FL and the unit in the car pictured is one of theirs. My old Mustang. I've been to their facility and they are a class act; they gut the old 'drop down' A/C units (as shown in 1st pic) and refit them for modern Freon and upgraded components. Its the only aftermarket unit I would use in a first generation Mustang.
However, I wouldn't use anything but Vintage Air A/C in a midyear Corvette....they've figured it out...(2nd pic is my split window A/C on a 98* Orlando summer day in traffic)

Wow, I clicked on the CA link and then on '63-'67. VERY impressed with the vents on either side of the waterfall. And the left-side outlet aimed at the driver's crotch? Cool comfort for gentlemen AND ladies!

I would prefer 4 symmetrically placed ball outlets such as I have in my 62

I have the Classis Auto Air in my 64. I moved the driver's outlet to the far left. Not hard to do.
Only issue I had was the hose outlets on the firewall. The hoses route right over the battery, which makes battery replacement impossible without removing all the hoses.
I didn't want to move the battery to the left fender well (including cutting the battery access hole), in case I wanted to restore the car back to original.
Otherwise, the system works well.
