Default alternator temp

what is a normal operating temperature for alternator and coil. My is coming in at about 130 degrees with a temp gun.

Check it again in January.

The 130 F seem a bit high (gut feel), but not too much. Remember it it right next to the engine that is at least 180 F. Underhood temps are probably near the 120-130 F mark. Also shoot the temp of the battery and master cylinder and compare.

A 'first world' problem.

If you have your hood open at a car show in Florida in August your alternator will be at 110*+ without the motor even running.

You need to find something else to worry about!

Just trying to protect my very early big tank fuel car, that's all!
