All others were Midyears .
Where I use a knife switch been doing that for 20 years good results. My RV has two 6 volt batteries in SERIES
I have that plugged in all winter only because most RV people keep them on shore power all the time even in storage.

answer - because IT MADE SENSE !
if you don't think the parasitic draw of a modern Corvette will not drain a battery you're living under a rock. Drive it daily or at least two three time a month fine but check over on the C6 forum and see how they make out with the 'hanger queens' ........ thus the battery tender !

Dont mean to dig this up from the dead again, but I have had an interesting experience with the dead redtop I mentioned in a previous post.
The car with the 12 y.o. optima was stored and I generally disconnect and forgot. I jumped it and ran it for a while and the battery would not restart so I assumed it was dead. Then I read that Optimas discharge very deeply, meaning that even when charged by the alternator for some time can still appear discharged.
I needed the car going so I grabbed a cheap battery for it but put the optima on my charger that supports AGM batteries and left for 3 days. The voltage came right up to 12.6, so I disconnected and left for 2 weeks off the charger and checked yesterday and still 12.6. Then I put it in the car and it started it no problem.
So maybe there is life in this 12yo optima yet !

As per my post above it seems they discharge so deeply (for example when leaving lights on, storing connected etc), that they sometimes look dead when they aren't. Some electronic chargers will see them as a lost cause and refuse to charge them.
I was ready to throw mine out when I read about this, but its back to life. I wonder how many of the fails you hear about are really dead.

I don't trust these batteries they bring down Airplanes ,catch Ferraris and corvettes on fire.
