Whatever it is it's been there a long time and looks very old school. It's awesome and I wouldn't change a thing !!

The T in the build stamp indicates the block is a Tonawanda NY built engine so we know it didn't start it's working career in a Corvette.

I can see a partial casting number of the intake manifold. It appears to be 391980_. This 3919 sequence indicates a 1968 time frame. If the carb is a 4bbl I am guessing the casting number is 3919803, which is a 1968 only intake used on all V8 body lines. If the casting number is 3919801 then it is a 2bbl intake used only in 1968 primarily on 307s and '68 Camaro 327s.

Once again a block casting number and date would help clear up the identity of this mystery engine.

I would also do something about that rubber fuel line to the carb, RFN.

If you can't replace it with a steel line, at least get some new SAE30 R9 fuel injection rubber hose and replace it with that before that old brittle stuff starts spraying gas and you get a fire.

Looking more like a 1968, 327 (?), full sized Chevy or Chevy II with powerglide...

By the way, welcome to the Corvette Forum

I believe you will soon find it to be one of the most valuable tools in your tool box!

Good luck... GUSTO

That stamp looks like 18J317042.

If so, it makes this a 1968 engine installed in a car at the Janesville, WI assembly plant.

Janesville made full size passenger cars, so you engine is a 1968 327, 250hp, powerglide, 4 bbl carb, installed in a full size passenger car
