Reproduction trim (data) tags on 1963 - 1967 Corvettes have become a big issue with the collector market.
Reproduction tags are pretty easy to detect, and they take a real hit when it comes to Corvette judging. Some organizations even go so far as to ban the car for life once a reproduction trim tag is detected.
Nobody makes a reproduction trim tag that is not detectable. NCRS has published a manual on how to identify reproduction trim tags for these year Corvettes.
Even having the incorrect rivets holding a trim tag on causes issues.
All of this hurts the value of a 1963-1967 Corvette.
You are much better off leaving your original damaged tag in place from a collector / value perspective.
Post a picture of your damaged tag, and we can better suggest how to proceed.
