66 Judging Guide/Manual 2 Question about Hardtop
I was perusing the manual and this just stuck our for some reason...
Section 4: TOP
Auxiliary Hardtop, Option C07
Exterior Surface: Paint
It says, Hardtops are painted body color. "there is NO notch cut in the bottom of the top for door clearances as in early midyear cars"
1. What was the purpose of "NOTCH"?
2. Why was there a "NOTCH" in previous models?
1 and 2 Are probably answered in one question...

It was present in 63 tops... and even somewhat later. I'm not going to get into a discussion of WHEN the notch disappeared.

Oh..okay..but now another question...
With the 'top' notch put back ,so to speak....then they had to do something to that area of the door/s, deck lid...
