Default bbc manifolds.

I'm thinking of putting a bb in my 67. I see two styles of manifolds for sale to supposedly fit. the long swept down style and what looks to me to be bbc camaro style rear discharge.. do both styles fit? or just the first choice.

65-74 should be all the same with some minor differences

BBC Corvettes had their own unique exhaust manifolds. The ones Nowhere man linked to are the ones for Corvettes. Camaros, Chevelles, Novas and full size passenger cars had a different style manifold. These manifolds might physically fit in a vette but factory style exhaust pipes won't fit to them. Not to mention they don't flow as well as vette manifolds. See the difference for yourself.

Of interest.... full size 66 and 67 Chevrolets with 425 HP 427's used the same Corvette exhaust manifolds.

I once owned a 425 HP 4 speed 66 Caprice and the engine was basically the exact same as a Corvette 425 HP. Fun car.

so my next question is going from a small block to bbc (early 80s 454) when i set it in and try to reuse my power steering pump and a one wire alt , (fan is no issue I have a becool system) does the short water pump get used because of the p steering pump to frame clearance ? and lastly do I try to find all bbc pulleys and brackets for a 67 because of that p steering pump ? or do i just use a long water pump and mid 80s brackets and pulleys ?

Yeah, you must, indeed. The fitment issue is not so much the PS pump but the pulleys on the crankshaft. The "dent" in the upper surface of the frame crossmember is for the pulleys. You can easily see that long water pump pulleys won't clear the "dent." That said, a long water pump would put the fan squarely into the radiator, even with a correct BB radiator support.

If you don't want to change your radiator support you can use a '65 396 or an L88 radiator, thermostat housing, fan shroud and radiator hoses.

Thanks to Critter1 for the tip on full size 427/425 cars. They weren't exactly the most common things.

I have a new/never used Be Cool BB kit that came with my car I won't be using. All sitting in a big box with a bunch of unopened little boxes. PM me if interested.
