Default C2 Jack

I saw the recent post abut C2 and C3 jacks and it got me wondering about the one that came with my '66. It looks similar to the C2 jacks I saw on eBay, but there is no 'A' stamp and no hole on the top plate. What are your thoughts?

Similar and would work but that isnt a c2 jack.
check this link for what they should look like.
Buying a real one will give you sticker shock.

Thanks! I've gotten lucky with everything I've checked so far for originality, so it was about time for a disappointment.

If your cars not going to be judged and the jack is serviceable just hang on to it....
Nobody is going to see it anyway...

That's a C3-C4 jack. Here's the range, depending on the width of the base. The length of the base will be 9". Bill

- 5" wide - 1969 to 1975. Date code on side rail
- 4.75" wide - 1976 to 1982. Date code on rivet (76-78) or trunnion (79-82)

It looks like the 76-82 jack to me. The 69-75's have a hole in the top rest, and a stamped "A" like mid-year jacks.

It's quite possibly a GM Service Replacement, as they continued to sell that style jack through the GM parts system, at least into the 90's.

Good eye Glenn ... I missed noticing the hole & A stamp on the OPs picture. Definitely the narrower 76-82 jack. Bill
