Roller Bearing
I'm looking for rear axle bearings for my 1956 Chevy 210. I have a few part #
Hyatt 1542 W also a GM # 7450792 and Departure Hyatt- JRN1542WB-15
Would you have any input ?

did you look at the rockauto web site, they list a bearing for a 56 210

To start out, there ain't none! Plain, pure and simple.
From what I've been able to determine, neither the 55-56 pass cars, nor the 56 Vettes came from the factory with a roller rear axle bearing.
BUUUUUUUUUUUT, early Chevy parts books DOES LIST a roller axle bearing for 55-56 pass cars, and I have what's left of one on the workbench which I removed from a customer's 55 Nomad several years ago (I keep if for show and tell, some people don't believe things like this unless you show 'um the genuine article). I NEVER knew one ever existed until I removed that one. Then I started checking with the Trifive folks and NO ONE knows of such a bearing being FACTORY installed on any 55-56 Chevy pass car.
The 58-62 Vettes--------------WITH FACTORY INSTALLED POSITRACTION-------------did get roller axle bearings. Those bearings are TOTALLY different from the 55-56 bearings, and they have been discontinued for MANY, MANY years.
The replacement axle bearings for 55-56 pass cars and 56 Vettes is the RW507 series which is a ball bearing. The 57 (ONE YEAR ONLY!!!) bearing is an RW307 series and the 58-62 (-64 for pass cars) bearing is the RW607 series.
So, that's your choice-----------------------unless you manage to locate a VERY OLD NOS bearing in someone's deep dark dungeon for a VERY HIGH price!
