1967 Engine Stamp
I thought in 67 engine stamps either started with an F or T, this one is a V.
I've had Camaro's and Nova's with a V before.

Thanks, I'm looking at a couple of cars and learning more than I wanted.
Where were the V blocks built?

There were two separate engine machining/***'y plants in Flint. One for L4 & L6 engines (Flint Motor Plant) & the other for 8 cylinder engines (Flint V8 Engine). For years, products from both facilities used the "F" suffix. In 1967 model year, "V" was adopted to identify & differentiate Flint V8 engines from their inline cousins -- mainly for bean-counters & warranty personnel who had to assign failed engine responsibilities.

Did some engines not have broach marks.

What exactly are these broach marks? I've seen quite a few talking about them, but not exactly sure.

WRONG!!! The engine was rebuilt and during the hot tank, very light broach marks were lost. Here is a before picture.

Others can explain it better then me but they are marks left from decking a block. Original broach marks are very fine to heavy lines on the stamp pad running parallel to the crankshaft. Broach marks from a modern machining leaves circular lines. Do a search on broach marks to see examples.

Must be some powerful liquid in the tank. Picture looks the same to me. I must need glasses.

Was this engine in a coupe or a convertible?
