[C2] Wrapping a car
#2
Don't know much about it except that you don't want to put a wrap on top of bad paint or clear coat. Any imperfections in the paint will show through the wrap. If the paint is ok, a wrap is a nice option in case you change your mind on the color or wish to easily change it back to the original/existing paint. Interesting idea and I do wonder if it's been done on a C2.

Yes, planning to do one next year. Price will be around $1000, but I am not doing a full wrap. There are lots of cars with wraps out here in the Phoenix area, Lamborghini, Corvette, Ferrari, you name it, they get wrapped with chrome wrap, flat or satin wraps, or with graphics printed into the wrap. I don't expect that the wraps hold up very well in the intense desert sun and heat, probably good for a few years before they shrink, peel, or loose their color.

They wrapped a Cobra kit car on Fantomworks (I think)...they brought in laser mapping equipment and made a custom wrap from 3D renderings. Looked OK but personally I wouldn't do it...
I don't care if the pasta rocket crowd does it....it ain't going on my Corvette...

When I was in the Check Republic there was a C6 that had a Chrome wrap done to it. He was at a car show here is where I saw it. I was told that he was only allowed to drive it on the street to car shows because the reflection was so bright it would blind other drivers if the sun was out. The car was that Atomic Orange under the Chrome wrap. It was different looking that is for sure.
