That is a great looking tool. I may have to borrow it as well in the future. I may have an issue that needs some investigation.

Bell housing alignment tool
Don,
I would like to borrow your alignment tool if possible. Since I have the tranny and everything out of the car for flywheel/clutch disc issues, now would be a great time to do alignment while waiting for parts.
Thanks!

Any chance of using the alignment tool ? I am assembling my short block and figure this is the best time to line up the bellhousing.

I realize this thread had cooled off over the past 6 years, but is this tool still available for loan?
Thanks,

What's the purpose of aligning the bell housing? Is it something necessary for a regular street car?

I believe a lot of the of the aftermarket 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions require aligning the bell housing. I also believe the more correct term is bellhousing runout alignment.

It is so the transmission is centered in the crankshaft center. Some transmissions are more picky about that for good shifting.
